Plantclub turns 5: a green journey
This year marks a significant milestone for Plantclub as we celebrate five years of collaboration centered around our core values, designed for people, growing together, and circular by nature. From our humble beginnings to becoming a trusted partner for businesses across Europe, these principles have guided our mission to bring office plant rental and indoor greenery subscriptions into every workspace and foster lasting relationships with our members.
Reflecting on our early days, we remember working with some of our first clients, including Taxfix, Moonfare, Ultimate.ai (Zendesk), and Uberall in Berlin, and Forto, Occhio, and Infodas in Hamburg. These partnerships, rooted in mutual respect and shared values, have played a key role in shaping our journey. By offering green office solutions, sustainable office design, and plant care services, we’ve helped many businesses enhance their workspaces with flexible membership models and lots of tropical plants!
As we commemorate this milestone, we’ve also taken the time to reflect on our journey. In the interview that follows, some of our team members and founders share their personal insights, recount pivotal moments, and discuss the lessons we've learned along the way.
Over the past five years, we’ve made impressive strides, expanding into new cities, building a strong community, and continually refining our approach to biophilic office design and plant rental for offices.

Founder’s reflections
To commemorate Plantclub's anniversary, we are hosting a Q&A session with our founders, managing director, and head of design. They will share insights on key milestones, lessons learned, and the exciting future that lies ahead for Plantclub.
Plantclub: What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in these five years of Plantclub?
Jack (Co-founder): Two things stand out to me:
Saying yes to opportunities. At Plantclub, our expansion has been driven by opportunity rather than deliberate planning. Forto, an early client in Berlin, asked if we could also provide plants for their Hamburg office. We weren’t fully ready—things were just taking off in Berlin—but it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. We figured out a way, delivering plants and pots ourselves. Max and I drove up one morning and worked for 24 hours straight to set everything up. Similarly, when N26, another Berlin client, needed support for their new Viennese office, we made it happen despite the challenges. You’re likely never fully ready for the next big step, but that shouldn’t stop you.
Building an amazing team. Through five years of Plantclub, we’ve been lucky to work with amazing people. As an intensely operations-driven company, our work involves everything from lifting, potting, and installing to managing growth and the website. Finding people who love taking on different topics and showing incredible ownership has been a must. But most importantly, it’s been about finding teammates that are great people.
Plantclub: What moments or decisions have shaped the way Plantclub operates today?
Jack (Co-founder): When Covid struck, Plantclub was only a few months old. We had done around five installations at member companies, but suddenly offices were closed and the future became uncertain. To adapt, we decided to offer a home office option, allowing companies to support their employees with greenery wherever they worked, and quickly set up an online plant store, with us delivering everything ourselves. The restrictions from Covid are long gone but the hybrid working setups have become normal for many. In 2025, our focus is much more on creating green environments that bring people together, so they can enjoy beautiful plants whilst they bond with team members.
Plantclub: What’s your vision for Plantclub over the next five years?
Isabella (Managing Director): Plantclub’s vision is rooted in growth, innovation, and sustainability. While strengthening our presence in Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna, we aim to expand into new European cities while maintaining our trusted, design-forward plant solutions. Sustainability and resource consciousness remain central to our mission of transforming workplaces into greener, healthier spaces. Over the next five years, we will advance our circularity initiatives and collaborate with industry leaders and design partners to deliver resource-efficient solutions that go beyond aesthetics, amplifying our impact. Through workshops and events, we will cultivate a community of workplace plant enthusiasts who share our commitment to environmental responsibility. Additionally, we will dedicate 0.5% of our revenue to carbon capture initiatives and expand partnerships with green innovators to drive climate action.
All this wouldn’t be possible without our team. By investing in their growth and fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and adaptability, we empower them to lead our mission forward. Together, we’ll keep Plantclub thriving—transforming spaces, inspiring workplaces, and making a lasting impact.
Plantclub: What new opportunities or goals are you most looking forward to pursuing in the coming years?
Our goal is to champion resource-conscious interior design that inspires businesses to create greener, healthier spaces. By building partnerships, expanding our reach, and staying true to our values, we aim to redefine office greenery as a catalyst for sustainability, well-being, and innovation. Together with our team, clients, and collaborators, we will shape the future of interior greening.
Plantclub: What has been the key to building lasting relationships with clients like Ultimate over the past five years?
Ailsa (Head of Design): Our approach is built on open communication, adaptability, and a deep commitment to client relationships. From the first consultation, our design team works closely with members to create tailored solutions, ensuring seamless transitions and ongoing support. Flexibility is key—we adapt quickly to evolving needs, building trust and strengthening long-term partnerships.
Collaboration between our design, operations, and plant care teams ensures every space thrives. With plant health and optimal placement as top priorities, we create and maintain vibrant green offices that enhance work environments. Consistency is just as crucial, especially with office management changes. Each team member acts as an account manager, preserving historical knowledge to guarantee reliable service and relationship continuity.
This holistic approach—blending expertise, attention to detail, and a focus on sustainability—has been instrumental in fostering meaningful, long-lasting connections with our members.
